CBIC Adjusts Customs Duty on Electronic Components
CBIC Revises Customs Duty to Support 'Make in India'
In a move to strengthen the 'Make in India' initiative, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has revised the Basic Customs Duty (BCD) on key electronic components, including semiconductor parts and camera modules.
This duty adjustment is expected to make domestic manufacturing more competitive by increasing the cost of importing finished goods while incentivizing local assembly. Industry experts believe this will attract further investment in the electronics manufacturing sector.
